Biltmore, America’s Royal Palace

Traversing the gardens of Asheville’s Biltmore Estate, it’s easy to forget that I’m in North Carolina and not Versailles, France or Windsor, England. Themselves American royalty, the Vanderbilts erected Biltmore Estate in 1889 in the shadow of the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains and there it stands today. For an outrageous $65 you too can experience life as a Vanderbilt – for the day. Here are my favorite scenes from the grand old manor.
